Azusa Murakami & Alexander Groves

Alexander Groves, born in England, 1983; Azusa Murakami, born in Japan, 1984; live and work in Shanghai, China

Central to Studio Swine’s practice is the notion of place-making and research-led design that is the product of a region and its culture, crafts, and resources. Swine believes that desire is the greatest agent of change and, to this end, explores design through material innovation and creating new sustainable systems while placing an equal importance on aesthetics. Cofounded by Japanese architect Azusa Murakami and British artist Alexander Groves, Studio Swine operates across a wide range of disciplines, working with clients such as Veuve Clicquot, Heineken, Unilever, and those who seek imaginative and visionary ways of developing their brand messages, whether through product, interiors, or unique commissions.
