Rodolfo Agrella

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, 1984; lives and works in Caracas, Venezuela / New York, USA

My work is informed by a deep understanding of the tropics, especially from the region in Venezuela where I live. This relates to our homeland and traditions, and each object I design is imbued with multiple connections and emotions. My goal is to inspire a reflective process in each person who uses what I create. As an architect, I use what I have learned from other disciplines. By manipulating scale while remaining faithful to structure, geometry, and function, I seek to activate our sensory systems, which is a vital part of what I develop. In each object, process, or project I work on, there are references to my ancestors, as well as to everyday aspects of my culture and environment.
