Estudio Guto Requena

Born in Sorocaba, Brazil, 1979; lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil

At Estudio Guto Requena, we shape memories through the experimental use of digital technologies. Our practice includes a variety of design scales—small objects, interiors, buildings, and even cityscapes. We look for answers to questions of sustainability, identity, memory, interaction, hybrid realities, and flexibility. In doing so, we draw on Brazilian contemporary design, seeking to create a methodology associated with research. The goal is in fact the process itself, not just the final result. We follow three main lines of creativity and production: theory (consulting, lectures, workshop research), individual projects (furniture, interiors, scenography, architecture), and mass media (design shows for television and the Internet).
